This young man, whose name is Ngoitup, is a medical miracle. He was a sickly, inactive child diagnosed with a heart defect. The village put up the money and sent him to a heart surgeon, who has set up an remarkable low-cost heart surgery unit in Kathmandu.

The village was amazed at the change. Now, he is an active part of the community. He proudly shows off his scar, when asked.
