Terraced Farming

Outside of Kathmandu, the hills are covered with terraced farmland. Stips of flat land are carved into the mountains offerring some terrain for growing crops.

The terracing is all maintained by rock walls, built by hand, and maintained throughout the rainy season. Farming in this environment is very labor intensive.
