Like some old Vermeer, the woman, scarf over her head, prepares our dinner, shadows cast by a hidden light source. Part of the painterly feel of this photo is because I took most of my inside pictures without a flash. The exposure was just a little longer than I could hold the camera steady. So everything is just a little smeared, as if painted with brush strokes.
