Terraced Cuts

I couldn't help seeing the highway as an intruder in the jungle. Hills were cut away, left exposed and barren, to serve the needs of trucks that can only climb a limited grade.

The terraces served as a trail for this young man and older woman. Later, a man passed with an old, long rifle which was used for hunting birds. It wasn't much more than a musket.
