Some of the streets and sidewalks of the new part
of Lisbon are made of small pieces of stone (about
1 inch by 1 inch), carefully laid into beautiful
patterns. People carefully put any piece that has
come out on the side of the sidewalk in
anticipation of someone like this fellow. Quite a
job when you consider that the street he is working
on is over a mile long.
