Steeple View
From the top of the steeple, I got a good view of the
village. Founded by a fellow who built his house at
the far end of the street, subsequent generations of
his offspring built houses along the same road. The
houses form a sort of geneology of the village.
It was from this vantage point that my guide saw his
brother's 3-year-old son walking across a field all by
himself. He quickly called his sister-in-law, who
said the boy was going to grandma's house. The
child knew the way, and it was only 1/4 mile through
the field. We watched, and sure enough, he made it
to his grandma's without a misstep.
