Apartment Hallway

A bare bulb hangs from the ceiling of an apartment hallway.

Previously owned by the government during the communist period, most apartments have been sold to their occupants in the past 10 years.

Although the insides of the apartments were beautifully cared for, the shared or common space, like this hallway, were often in disrepair. I was told that there was still some confusion about who was responsible for maintenance of these areas.
