Prince Felix Yusupov

The State Russian Museum, located in the Mikhailovsky Palace, contains a large collection of Russian art. I found some of the modern art very interesting and was surprised at how little I knew about Russian artists.

Among the paintings was this "Portrait of Prince Felix Yusupov, Count Sumarokov-Elstone. (On Horseback)" done in 1903 by Valentin Serov. The Prince was one of the people responsible for Rasputin's murder. Born in 1887, I learned that he died in 1967 in Paris. What a change to experience, between St. Petersburg in 1887 and Paris in 1967!
