Large Buddha

Thailand is a Buddhist country. Over 90% of the population is Theravada Buddhist.

I was surprised at how different a Buddhist culture "feels". Every aspect of social interaction is influenced by Buddhist teachings: at work, shopping, eating, everything.

When I got back to the U.S., I was hit by the same omnipresent influence of Christianity in our culture. I have a much better understanding of how difficult it will be for humans to tolerate each other!
