After a midnight arrival in Vientiane, and a sidetrack to a hotel owned by a relative to the driver, we got to our hotel. Jordan and Kao went out. I stayed in the room, protecting our luggage, and feeling very much out of the ordinary.

The first thing I saw the morning after we arrived in Vientiane was the construction methods used to build the concrete buildings. The wood sticks support the forms for the concrete about to be poured as the second floor.
