Lift to the Clouds

By mid-day, we reached Vang Vieng, nestled below these striking outcroppings. We were about half way to Luang Prabang.

Notice the cell phone tower at the left of the photo. One of the strangest things I noticed during the trip was the prevasive use of cell phones. I knew we were close to a town because everyone on the bus took out their cell phones!
