James C. March Paintings Recovered!
On the night of Sunday, May 16th, 2004 there was a break-in at the North Light Books & Cafe. The
burglars stole a pair of speakers, some cash, and 4 of my paintings (click

On Monday morning, November 12th, 2007 I received a call from the Cotati Police Department saying
that they believed they had recovered 3 of my paintings from a man in Santa Rosa.
The fourth painting, "Creation", had been sold on eBay to someone located in southern California. On Tuesday morning, November 13th, 2007 I contacted the Orange County Sheriff's Department. They said they had recovered the painting.
The newspaper published an article about the recovered paintings, but got one part wrong. It was not my ex-wife that found the paintings being sold on eBay. It was the ex-wife of the man who was in possession of the paintings. I was told the couple had recently broken up and the wife, afraid her ex-husband was selling off community property, was watching his eBay account!
For the first time in my life, I benefitted from the wrath of a woman scorned!
