Large Homes

Construction of 4-story homes was a common sight between Kirtipur and Tribhuven University. I visited one of these homes, almost completed, that belonged to a professor at the University.

When I asked him why he wanted such a large home for his wife and only child, he replied, "When my extended family hears I have built this home, they will come out of the hills to live here, in Kathmandu." I wasn't sure, but it sounded like he had didn't have much choice in the matter.
