Buddha Sits
"Don't just do something," Buddha said, "sit there."
Published figures put 80% of Nepal as Hindu. There is
some disagreement as to the accuracy of this figure. Some
say the percentage may be biased, produced by a
200-year-old Hindu monarchy.
And then there is the joke about the Nepali answer to the
question, "Are you Hindu or Buddhist?" (pause) "Yes!"
In any case, there are
many historic Buddhist/Hindu sites in Nepal. And Buddha is
believed to have been born in Lumbini, Nepal, about
140 miles from Kathmandu.
