Gazprom

Across the Moskva river from the hotel was a large building with a "Gazprom" sign on the top and a HUGE Coca-Cola "billcloth" (fabric billboard) covering the front.

It took me about 2 days to figure out that the sign on the top stood for Gazprom, the large, recently privatized (and controversially acquired) oil and gas producing company of Russia.

I found the fate of Gazprom and the Coca-Cola sign somehow representative of the vast changes going on in Russia today.
