Modern Housing
There was quite a contrast between the traditional
housing and the modern housing. This house was
recently constructed and was in sharp contrast to other
housing nearby.
I don't know who has the resources to make these new
homes. In Thailand, we found retired city dwellers
returning to the country, building big houses. We also
found money coming from other countries (like the US)
from emigrants, sending money home to build a new
house for their parents.
Perhaps that was happening in Laos, too.
